Who “we” is

LX Design Studio, in Graz, Austria, is the data controller: it decides what Elementa collects and why, and it is who you are contracting with.

SUPALABS builds and runs the software on LX Design Studio’s instructions, as a processor. It has no independent right to your data and cannot use it for anything of its own.

For anything about this policy, write to elementa.intelligence@gmail.com.

What we collect

Your account. An email address, and either a password (stored only as a hash, never in readable form) or, if you sign in with Google, the email address and basic profile Google returns. We ask Google for two scopes only — email and profile. We cannot read your Gmail, Drive, Calendar or contacts, and we never request permission to.

Your projects. Whatever you enter or import: project names, locations, floor areas, building elements, materials, quantities and the scenarios you build from them.

Waitlist requests. If you ask to be told when Elementa or the Circular Material Connector opens up, we keep the email address you gave us for that, and use it for nothing else.

Nothing else. Elementa has no analytics, no tag manager, no advertising pixels and no third-party trackers — not in the app at app.elementa.cloud, and not on the public site at elementa.cloud. We do not build a profile of you, and we have nothing to sell to anyone who might want one.

Models you import stay on your machine

IFC and DXF files are parsed in your browser. The file itself is never uploaded to us. What reaches our database is the result — element names, materials, quantities and simplified geometry — not the source model.

So a model containing drawings, client details or commercially sensitive information beyond the material take-off does not leave your computer.

Who processes it

  • Supabase — accounts and database. Hosted in the EU.
  • Cloudflare — serves the application.
  • Resend — sends service email such as confirmations and password resets.
  • Anthropic — writes the short explanation behind the “Why?” button next to a suggested material. See below for exactly what it is sent.
  • Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google.

Each processes data on our instructions to run the service. None is given your data for their own purposes, and none of them is paid in data.

What the “Why?” button sends

When you ask why a suggested material is better, we send Anthropic the two materials being compared and nothing else: their names, their categories, their embodied-carbon figures, their cost tiers, and the unit those figures are quoted in.

Your project name, your location, your account and every other element in the project stay here. The request describes two rows from a public materials database, so there is nothing in it that identifies you or your building. If you never press the button, nothing is sent at all.

Why we are allowed to hold it

To give you the service you asked for. Your account and your projects exist because you asked us to keep them. Without them there is no product.

Because we have to. A small amount of record-keeping — that an account exists, that it was closed — we keep to answer questions about the service later.

Because you said so. Waitlist emails, and nothing else, rest on you having asked. One click unsubscribes and we delete the address.

Where it goes

Your account and your projects are stored in the EU. Some of the companies above are based in the United States, so parts of the service — serving pages, sending an email, writing that one explanation — involve a transfer outside the EEA.

Those transfers rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, or on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the company is certified under it. You can ask us which applies to which provider and we will tell you.

Stored in your browser

Six keys, all preferences: your plan selection, your project defaults, whether the sidebar is collapsed, which product tours you have seen, whether you dismissed the welcome, and whether you dismissed the demo project. The last one is filed under your user id so that two people on a shared machine do not dismiss each other’s demo — it is the only identifier of any kind we put in your browser, and it never leaves it.

Two more may exist on a browser that used Elementa before accounts did, when projects were saved locally. Those hold project data rather than preferences, and they are cleared the first time you sign in, once the projects have been moved into your account.

No tracking, no advertising identifiers, no third-party cookies. Clearing site data removes all of it and costs you nothing but those preferences.

How long we keep it

Your projects stay until you delete them or close your account. Delete a project and it is removed from the database. Ask us to close your account and we remove the account and everything attached to it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, have it deleted, or object to how it is processed. You can export any project yourself from the app at any time, in JSON or CSV.

For anything else, email elementa.intelligence@gmail.com. We will answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to your national data protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will say so in the app rather than quietly editing this page.
